Cebu · Hybrid solar with battery

Solar that keeps the lights on through Cebu’s brownouts

In 2026 the Visayas grid stopped being something Cebu households could take for granted. A hybrid system with a battery keeps the circuits you choose running when the grid drops.

A year of red alerts

On 13 May, the first red alert of the year brought one-hour rotational brownouts to Cebu City, Mandaue, Naga and San Fernando. August was worse: red alerts on three straight days from 10 to 12 August, more through the rest of the month, and manual load dropping across Metro Cebu. Traffic lights in Cebu City went dark.

The bill moved too. Metro Cebu’s residential rate rose from about ₱11.51 per kWh in late 2025 to ₱14.89 in September 2026, an increase of roughly 29 percent in a year. Cebu households now pay about the same per kWh as Metro Manila.

A grid-tied solar system lowers that bill, but it switches off when the grid goes down. That is a safety rule, not a defect. If brownouts are your problem, you need a hybrid system: solar panels, a hybrid inverter and a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. When the grid drops, the inverter isolates your home from the grid and runs the circuits on your backup panel from the battery and the panels.

Three hybrid packages, prices published

  • Lite Plus, starts at ₱310,000. 10 × 620 W panels, a 5 kW hybrid inverter, 5.12 kWh of battery. Rated for 4–6 hours of essentials during a brownout: lights, fans, router, refrigerator. Fits a ₱3,000–5,000 monthly bill, or a work-from-home setup that cannot drop.
  • Home Plus, starts at ₱480,000. 16× 620 W panels, an 8 kW hybrid inverter, 10.24 kWh of battery. Rated for 6–10 hours of lights, fridge, fans and one aircon. Fits an ₱8,000–12,000 bill.
  • Max Plus, starts at ₱680,000. 24× 620 W panels, a 12 kW hybrid inverter, 16 kWh of battery. Rated for 8–14 hours across the circuits on your backup panel. Fits a ₱15,000–25,000 bill.

Starting prices, all-in. Achiv is non-VAT. Your final quotation is itemised after a site visit.

Every price is on our site before you talk to anyone. Your proposal itemises each panel, inverter, battery, breaker and cable, and our professional fee is a per-watt rate on the system installed. Nothing is added mid-job.

Why a Cebu crew matters

Cebu is our operations base. The team that surveys your roof is the team that installs it and signs the workmanship warranty, so there is no sub-contracted crew between you and the people who built the system. When something needs attention after handover, the people who answer are close by.

Every install ships with a documentation pack: as-built diagrams, panel string layouts, labelled breakers, warranty registrations and a one-page operating guide. Every DC run is labelled and every lug is torque-checked.

Warranty, in plain numbers

Panels carry 25 years of performance warranty and 12 years of product warranty. The hybrid inverter carries 5 years, and the battery 8 years. Our own workmanship warranty runs 2–3 years, depending on the package.

Selling power back to the grid

A hybrid system is sized first for your own use, because power you use yourself is worth your full retail rate. If you want to export surplus power under net-metering, we prepare the engineer-signed single-line and as-built drawings your distribution utility asks for and guide you through the application. You file it with the utility.

Send us your last bill.

We size the battery to the loads you want running in a brownout, not to a template.

Frequently asked

Three questions we often get.

Will a grid-tied system work during a brownout?
No. Grid-tied inverters shut down when the grid fails so they cannot feed power into lines that crews may be repairing. To keep power during a brownout you need a hybrid inverter with a battery.
How long will the battery last during a brownout?
It depends on what you run. Lite Plus is rated for 4–6 hours of essentials. Home Plus is rated for 6–10 hours of lights, fridge, fans and one aircon. Max Plus is rated for 8–14 hours across the circuits on your backup panel. During the day the panels recharge the battery and carry part of the load.
Can I add a battery to a solar system I already have?
Often, yes, depending on your inverter. We inspect the existing system first. If it was installed by another company and has problems, we can take it over and bring it up to standard before adding storage.
